Collection: Bambi

Due to the mystery of her identity as well as her intricate stencil and aerosol work, Bambi has become widely known as ‘The female Banksy’. While the two graffiti artists may have a few things in common, Bambi has proven in both her work and artistic values to be very much an artist in her own right.

Born c. 1982 in the United Kingdom, she has been an active graffiti artist in the Islington neighborhood of London since her youth. The artist’s work focuses on contemporary female identity and its relationship to patriarchal culture, the commodification of the art world, and political injustices.

“Being an artist is about creative freedom, I want to save the world and that’s why social commentary is always present in my work. It’s easy to live with your eyes shut but that’s not fulfilling or helpful to the world.”

Her work often uses contemporary icons and pop-culture references to create poignant social and political commentary. She has gained multiple celebrity clients over the years such as Cara Delevigne, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Rihanna, Harry Styles, Kanye and Kim Kardashian-West, and Kate Moss who reportedly paid £50,000 for a commissioned portrait of herself.
